Year 11 Summer Adventure Week

With so many events cancelled this summer we wonder if this might be a great way to spend a week. At this stage (mid-June) it is dependent on the relaxation of lockdown measures and the camp sites re-opening. If those do not happen, then this week will not be able to take place and all monies would be refunded. However, camp sites are anticipating that they will be able to open on 4th July.
This adventure week gives you a chance to try a whole range of activities as well as having time to relax, chat and enjoy the views. We hope you’ll have tonnes of fun learning new skills, and leave inspired to learn even more.
We will offer the following activities during the week:

  • Climbing
  • Coasteering
  • Football
  • Walking and scrambling
  • Beach games
  • Swimming

In the evening, we will organise a wide range of other events including a beach bbq, paddling or a chance to relax and enjoy the sunset over the sea.

We will be based near Swanage on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset.
The local area boasts an amazing beach, a beautiful seaside town and coasteering is brilliant fun on the rocky coastline.

£420 per person.
This includes instruction, transport, accommodation, all specialist equipment and food (3 meals per day).

2020 Date

Monday 13th to Friday 17th July

Getting there

We will have a minibus and will drive you from Surbiton down to Swanage. We will have use of the minibus whilst we are there. Alternatively we could pick you up or drop you off at Wareham train station.

Eating is an important part of the week and you will cook (under supervision) food that you and your group have planned. Part of this week is about becoming self-sufficient, you will have a budget and as a group, decide on the menu for the 3 nights as well as breakfast and lunch each day.

We will be in single tents (due to Covid-19). We will be in a field attached to a quiet campsite that is often used by DofE expedition groups and school groups. We will also have a base-camp tent where we can cook and relax. Hepworth Adventures staff will also be staying on the camp site overnight.
The campsite has stunning views over the sea and there is indoor space if necessary to dry out kit and relax if it’s raining.

All the technical equipment required to participate will be provided.
You will need only to provide your own personal clothing items, a sleeping bag and mat. You will receive a full equipment list when you apply. If you already have any equipment of your own such as a wetsuit then you are welcome to bring it along.

At Hepworth Adventures we are proud of our staff. All the staff have worked regularly with under 18s. Many of our staff are also qualified teachers. We are able to offer a huge range of knowledge and experience to help you get the best out of these amazing sports.
Staff have all been DBS checked and are aware of our safeguarding procedures to keep the students safe whilst in our care.
