Year 11 Summer Adventure Week

Overview

In 2020 we ran two separate adventure weeks in the summer for Year 11 groups after their GCSES/ end of term. Given the positive feedback we received we would love to be able to repeat this with other groups in 2021. If you can create a group (of 8 or more) we would love to create a bespoke adventure week for you.

This adventure week gives you a chance to try a whole range of activities as well as having time to relax, chat and enjoy the views. We hope you’ll have tonnes of fun learning new skills, and leave inspired to learn even more.
We will offer the following activities during the week:

  • Climbing
  • Coasteering
  • Football/ rounders/ cricket
  • Kayaking and canoeing
  • SUPing
  • Walking and scrambling
  • Beach games
  • Swimming

In the evening, we will organise a wide range of other events including a beach bbq, paddling or a chance to relax and enjoy the sunset over the sea.

Venue

We will be based near Swanage on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset.
The local area boasts an amazing beach, a beautiful seaside town and coasteering is brilliant fun on the rocky coastline.

Cost

£450 per person.
This includes instruction, transport, accommodation, all specialist equipment and food (3 meals per day).

Food

Eating is an important part of the week and you will cook (under supervision) food that you and your group have planned. Part of this week is about becoming self-sufficient, you will have a generous budget and as a group, decide on the menu.

Accommodation

We will be in tents. We will be in a field attached to a quiet campsite that is often used by DofE expedition groups and school groups. We will also have a base-camp tent where we can cook and relax. Hepworth Adventures staff will also be staying on the camp site overnight.
The campsite has stunning views over the sea and there is indoor space if necessary to dry out kit and relax if it’s raining.

Equipment

All the technical equipment required to participate will be provided.
You will need only to provide your own personal clothing items, a sleeping bag and mat. You will receive a full equipment list when you apply. If you already have any equipment of your own such as a wetsuit then you are welcome to bring it along.

Staff

At Hepworth Adventures we are proud of our staff. All the staff have worked regularly with under 18s. Many of our staff are also qualified teachers. We are able to offer a huge range of knowledge and experience to help you get the best out of these amazing sports.
Staff have all been DBS checked and are aware of our safeguarding procedures to keep everyone whilst in our care.
